Mona Tian Professional Performer, Violin Instructor
Ms Mona is an original member of the Pacific Coral string quartet, which performs Wadada Leo Smith's Pulitzer award-finalist composition collection Ten Freedom Summers nationally and internationally. She has played with Santa Barbara Symphony, Opera Santa Barbara, Grammy Award-winning ensemble Southwest Chamber music, NYC Wordless Orchestra, International Contemporary Ensemble, the Flux Quartet and Bill T. Jones Dance Company. Being a gifted violinist, Ms Mona performed for large audiences at Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (Los Angeles), Mostra SESC de Artes (São Paulo), Roulette Theater (NYC), Congress Center Saalfelden (Austria), Pritzker Pavilion(Chicago), Atlas Theater (Washington DC) and Granada Theater (Santa Barbara). Ms Mona holds Bachelor degree in Violin performance from California Institute of the Arts. She teaches at Center for Early Education and Harmony Project. Ms Mona recently joined Ernesta Music School and is bringing inspiration of music to violin students of different ages and skill levels.
